International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) at Erasmus University Rotterdam introduces differentiated career paths

To allow academics to focus more on their talents, differentiated career paths have been introduced at ISS, a faculty of Erasmus University (based in The Hague). The Research profile is characterised as research intensive, the other profiles (education, leadership and societal relevance) are research active. ISS provides an indication of time distribution per area, per profile. In addition, the descriptions of the profiles include what activities, academic skills, professional attitude and demonstrable achievements that fit them. The academics have been extensively briefed on this over the past year through all-staff meetings. They are currently working out the final steps towards formalising the choices.
